The World Congress of Environmental and Resource Economists (WCERE) is the international conference of environmental and resource economists organised every four years by the World Council of environmental and Resource Economists Associations (WCEREA).
The first WCERE dates back to 1998, and the most recent once was held in 2018 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Following a pause due to the pandemic, the 7th WCERE will be held from 29 June to 3 July 2026 in Carcavelos, Portugal.
It is co-organised by the Asian Association of Environmental and Resource Economics (AAERE), the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (AERE), the African Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (AFAERE), the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE), and the Latin American Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (LAERE)
We are honoured to host WCERE2026 at NOVA School of Business and Economics (NOVA SBE), a sustainable, oceanfront campus in Carcavelos, Portugal.
We look forward to welcoming researchers, policymakers, and practitioners from around the world to engage in high-level discussions and exchange ideas at the intersection of economics, environment, and policy.
